Dear Marquette Hope Church Family,
We want to share with you what we are doing to come back
together again--when that will be and what it will look like.
We have been glad to connect online in all the ways and
times we could over recent weeks. We have enjoyed a
great opportunity to affirm a fundamental truth of our
faith--that we can experience the presence of God wherever we are, and that it is never limited to the spaces inside our buildings.
That said, we also value being together and in our sacred spaces together. Remember, the people of God found themselves in the wilderness for a very long time before they settled into a place God led them. Along the way, over that long time, they learned much about trust and patience. What can we learn about new ways of being the church in this time?
Please read this document (or click on the graphic to the right of this letter) about what is happening at Marquette Hope in the weeks ahead. We believe as your pastors, staff, and Leadership Board that this is the best course of action for our congregation at this time. We will be proceeding carefully over the next few weeks, as we move toward in person worship inside our buildings, starting with a series of outdoor worship experiences in July. Until then we will continue gathering on Zoom. In July and into the future there will still be online worship for those who would prefer that or feel that their risk is too great.
